Shadows and auras drop on a rarity ladder that runs from common to things most players never see. Your rarest pull sits at the top of your status card, where everyone can see it.

$SHDW is a live market, not a shop with fixed prices. Every buy pushes it up and every sell pushes it down, so timing your exit is its own game. Player-to-player trades settle through escrow, so nobody runs off with your gear.
